I’ve been blessed to work with Bill Heitzman, the founder of the Leadership Productivity Forum, for more than six years. What began as a simple invitation from a friend became one of the most transformative experiences of my professional and personal life.
Bill’s Christian-based leadership coaching has completely changed how I define success, manage my company, and live out my faith. His mentorship taught me that leadership is about purpose, not pressure — and that growth begins when you align your actions with your values.
How It All Began
I was referred by my good friend Jeremy Jones (LinkedIn), a long-time Forum member who often spoke about the impact Bill had made in his life. After hearing his enthusiasm, I decided to attend a morning meeting.
That first session changed everything. I walked into a room with six local business owners, and the camaraderie was instant. Everyone was open, humble, and genuinely interested in helping each other grow. I realized quickly that the Forum was more than a coaching group — it was a community. The discussion wasn’t just theory; it was practical, real, and faith-centered.
Why I Chose to Work with Bill
At the time, I was struggling in more ways than one. My business had grown, but my leadership hadn’t kept up. I wasn’t hiring the right people, and I wasn’t managing effectively. Most days, I was reacting instead of leading.
Bill saw what was happening before I did. He recognized the stress I was under and the toll it was taking on both my business and personal life. Rather than handing me a quick fix, he asked questions that helped me uncover the real issues. Slowly, we started to rebuild from the inside out.
Over time, the impact was undeniable. My business became stronger, my relationships improved, and I found peace in knowing that my leadership was aligned with my faith and purpose.
The Power of the Personal Guidance Compass
One of the most powerful tools Bill teaches is the Personal Guidance Compass. It’s a framework of core values that serves as a daily reminder to stay centered on what matters most.
Through this process, I learned to focus on priorities like faith, family, and integrity — not just profit. The Compass helps me evaluate every decision: Is this aligned with my purpose? Does this reflect my values? Those two questions alone have changed how I lead and live.
Breakthroughs That Changed My Thinking
Over the years, I’ve experienced more breakthroughs than I can count. I’ve learned that leadership is about patience, empathy, and consistency. It’s about leading by example and fostering a culture that reflects who you are at your core.
Bill’s coaching helped me understand how mindset drives results. He encouraged me to work consciously and subconsciously toward growth. When challenges arise, I now have the tools and faith to stay grounded. More importantly, I’ve learned to trust that doing the right things — even when it’s hard — always pays off in time.
Faith at the Center of Leadership
Faith isn’t something Bill talks about occasionally; it’s the foundation of his entire approach. His leadership style is grounded in Biblical truth and the belief that business success and spiritual growth go hand in hand.
That perspective reshaped how I approach both life and work. The Forum doesn’t just teach leadership principles — it teaches how to lead with grace, humility, and strength. Every meeting begins and ends with a sense of gratitude, which keeps us focused on serving others and honoring God through our businesses.
What I Appreciate Most About Bill’s Mentorship
What stands out most about Bill is his patience and belief in people. He often saw potential in me long before I did. He never forced change or lectured; instead, he guided, encouraged, and waited for things to click in my own time.
Applying what I’ve learned hasn’t always been easy, but Bill’s steady encouragement made all the difference. He changed the trajectory of my business and my life in ways I could never repay. My hope is that by sharing this story, someone else will take the first step toward experiencing that same transformation.
